On the 15th of June the International Gallery of the First Names Altmans Gallery, founded by Egor and Christina Altman, will open its doors in the heart of Tel Aviv. The gallery features original works by Marc Chagall, Salvador Dalí, Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse, Andy Warhol, Joan Miró, Wassily Kandinsky, Yuriy Norshteyn and other famous artists of the 20th century in the price range from $500 to $50,000.
The gallery specializes in lithographs – segment of the international art market that is considered to be the most liquid and rapidly growing. Over the past ten years, the sum of auction transactions in this segment has doubled and exceeded $ 220 million per year. At least one out of every three works purchased at auctions today is a lithograph.
Altmans Gallery was founded several years ago in Moscow and will be opened in the center of Tel Aviv on Rothschild Boulevard, an area beloved by tourists and locals and known for its fashionable restaurants, nightclubs, and art objects. Gallery will be located close to Neve Tzedek, an ancient neighborhood of Tel Aviv.
The gallery is well-known in Russia for its exhibitions. Exhibitions include Marc Chagall's exhibition "My Life" and the anniversary exhibition of Yuriy Norshteyn "The artist draws a film. Yarbusova and Norshteyn ", timed to coincide with the 75th anniversary of the artist. Another famous exhibition was Salvador Dali’s "Alice in Wonderland", timed to coincide with the 185th birthday of Lewis Carroll.
