Information about the artwork

Dali came to Surrealism not at the very beginning. He started with studies of devices of traditional academic painting. Dali experimented in Cubism, he treated works by Pablo Picasso with utmost reverence. As a result – in some of his surrealist paintings elements of cubism can be traced. Also his creations were intensely influenced by Renaissance era art. But when he started to paint in surrealist style, it became his love nearly till the end of his life. Only in the decline of years Dali moved from Surrealism towards more realistic paintings.

Amazingly beautiful series of 13 colored lithographs, signed by Salvador Dali, consisting of 12 images of zodiac signs and image of analemma, was created in 1967.
